One Wild and Precious Life

The Garden of Eden
Filled with God’s Truth
Was no match for temptation
When Eve focused on the fruit…she couldn’t have

Instead of basking in God’s Glory
Where every need was met
She allowed Satan to keep her focused
On the one thing…she couldn’t get

This negative focus
Darkened her mind
Clouded her Spirit
She was unable to find…”ALL” she did have

Gazing only on the luscious fruit
That “for her”, God had NOT provided
Darkness surrounded her heart
The temptation… never subsided

Staying focused on what was wrong
She failed to see ALL that God made right
Banishment from His hallowed ground
Soon became her plight

The same goes
“For us”
When we refuse to enjoy our
One wild and precious life

Approaching God on our knees
With Thanksgiving
He pours into us
His transforming light

Light that pierces
Through the dark
Bringing clarity
To what we think is wrong

Changing our focus
To ALL that is lovely and pure
Gives our heart
A grateful song

The next time you feel tempted
To stray off of God’s Garden Path
Remember it is cold
And dark

And thank Him for the
One wild and precious life
He intended for you
From the start
