The Unfathomable Gift

I take refuge in The Lord
For He is my strength
His arms wrap around me
For He is my comforter in times of weakness or distress
He gives me life, joy and contentment
And I find solace in His Word

When my soul is weary
I take my burden to The Lord
And He offers a respite for my troubles
I find pleasure in His tranquil presence
He offers living water to quench my deep thirst
I drink freely, refreshing my soul

He is the lamp to my feet
He guides ma along the ancient path
He shows me where the good way is
I follow and my feet do not stumble
When I think I know the best way, He draws me close to Him
So I don’t veer off the old path

He provides good food for my body, (His Temple)
He expects me to care for His Temple
In the way He has cared for me
And I willingly comply
When others forsake me, I can trust that He will be there for me
Because I am His creation, fearfully and wonderfully made

When the days are uncertain, I will rest in His sovereign plan for my life
All of my days have been ordained by The Lord
He knows my words, even before they appear on my lips
He knitted me together in His image
I am a part of His Royal Family that will inherit everlasting life

What an unfathomable gift for a mustard seed of faith and trust in His Word!

So Near

There will be nowhere to run
Nowhere to hide
When the Lord God above returns
To fight for His side

He will give everyone
The opportunity to know His name
What you do with the knowledge of Him
Is your decision just the same

Please take heed dear ones
Regarding the choices you make
So when it’s time to meet your Maker
For you… it won’t be too late

To call on The Lord God of Israel
The Father of Abraham
The omniscient master over all the earth
The Great I Am

To provide shelter from His wrath
Hide you up under His wing
For He comes again to destroy all those
Who mocked and never believed

In His Son, Jesus The Christ
Who died for our sins
In His Word, The Bible
And that He is coming again

To take us captive in His train
Shielding us from the storm
Don’t get left behind
No! Be forewarned

He is The God of Love and Peace
To those who call on His name
A mighty warrior to the death
Of those who will NOT proclaim

Of His Power, His omnipotence
His indescribable gift
Of allowing His Son to take the blame
For all the loathsome things we did

Yet, this faith is simple, it’s easy
Like the faith of a child
A yearning of expectation
A hopeful trust and desire

To live a life that is pleasing to
The God of Peace and Light
Who promised to come back and rescue
Every single life

That doesn’t fall prey to disbelief
Discouragement, hopelessness and fear
For the promise of The Promised Land
Has never been so near
