There Go I

I have a job, a family and a home I have Jesus – I am not in this world alone

But others walk these streets with nowhere to turn – a life lesson you and I may never have to learn

They’ve been reduced to begging by holding a sign – not saying a word, just hoping we’ll be kind

Enough to purchase their daily bread – but we drive on by –

Enough said? – I think not!

I think it’s time to speak! – It’s time to take a stand for the beggar on the street

How did they get there – do we even care? Are we too busy to roll down our window and share

A smile, a bit of conversation maybe even find out their name – Or how they fell on hard times –

We should all be ashamed!

If we pass by these souls without lending a helping hand – and that doesn’t always mean money –

It could mean mercy and grace – because they are someone’s son or daughter- not just a nameless face

So let’s think twice the next time we are tempted to just drive by… because without the grace of God –

There go You and I

Surrender

My battle is between self-reliance and surrender – Help me Lord, to get out of Your way

Help me cling to all of Your promises – Resting peacefully at the end of each day

Because Your Power is made perfect in my weakness – Let me succumb to my weakness within

And just when I think I am in control – Have me surrender to You time and again

For self-reliance is a liar – She’d have me believe I can do all things on my own

But I can do all things ONLY through Christ who gives me strength – which is the only way You will condone

My character, my conduct, my conversation – each step I take along life’s path

Self-reliance leads down a dead-end road – but when I surrender Your love bridges the gap

So help me lay down my burden of self-reliance and lay down the pride that wants to be in control

To rest in the peace of confidently knowing – Your promises come when I surrender my soul

Forever Praise

When my time on earth is done
I trust, I am connected to the One
Who created me and gave His Son –
To atone for my sins

When my time on Earth is finished
My soul will connect with The Creator
To replenish – Time stolen by Satan and his minions

When my time on Earth has ended
After my spirit body has ascended
Beyond the veil, and I can finally see The glorious unfolding You planned for me I will forever praise Your Holy Name, Jesus

When “our” last breath on Earth is taken, Revealing that “we” are not forsaken and what Christ did for “us” on The Cross, Was indeed to save “us” from the abyss of loss –
“We will exist to forever praise Him!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah!
Hallelujah to the King of Kings!
