The Rescue

I wandered off the beaten path
Into obscurity
But The Good Shepherd left the 99
To rescue even me

No one was more astonished
That He came to seek me out

But He said
No one was more important
And that
I should never doubt

His unconditional love for me
His willingness to find

Any wayward soul
Back-slidden
Lost sheep
On the mountainside

For we are all His sheep
Of this we should never forget

And He will scour the Earth
To rescue us
For our worth
Was His blood’s debt

Yes! He will always
Leave the 99
To rescue
Just the “one”

For His love magnifies
Exemplifies
The Father’s Love
For The Son

Uplifted

I lift up my hands
My voice rings praise
I lift up my eyes
Toward Heaven – gaze

I lift up my heart
In song – rejoice
I lift up my ears
To hear Your voice

I lift up prayers
To You – requests
You answer, No
Wait – for the Yes

A thankful heart
You’ve given me
To You I owe
My everything

I lift up my soul
An offering
You lift up my head
I praise You – King
